RANDOLPH COUNTY COMMISSION MINUTES
Thursday, August 22, 2013
The Honorable Commission convened at the Huntsville Courthouse with the following present: Susan Carter, Presiding Commissioner; Wayne Wilcox, Eastern District Commissioner, Jerry Crutchfield, Western District Commissioner; and Shelby Creed, Deputy Clerk.
9:00 a.m. Com. Carter called the meeting to order and moved approval of the agenda. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (3-0).
Interim Road and Bridge Supervisor Dale Herron arrived to discuss road maintenance issues. Mr. Herron reported on his attendance along with two other Road and Bridge employees at the Chipseal Training event held in Jefferson City on Tuesday, August 20 which was sponsored through Missouri LTAP. There is no charge for these classes.
Commissioners received a call from Assistant District Engineer Brian Haeffner, MODOT, to discuss the meeting he attended Wednesday, August 21, with the Clark City Council regarding MoDOT’S planned improvements at the intersection at Highway 63/Highway B/Highway P.
Commissioners reported on their meeting Tuesday afternoon at Moberly City Hall organized by Moberly Police Chief Russell Tarr to discuss 911 and other legislative issues with Rep. Tim Remole, Sheriff Mark Nichols and other city and county officials.
Commissioners signed contract for work done for Clifton Hill Cemetery Association.
Commissioners contacted Solomon Boiler Works to confirm that additional repairs to the boiler at the Moberly Courthouse which had been ordered following failure of the boiler to pass a state inspection will cost the county an estimated $2600.
Com. Crutchfield returned a call to Cyndi Sherrow, CR 1170, to inform her of county policies concerning installation of ‘Children at Play’ signs on county roads.
Commissioners reviewed invoices for payment. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve payments as presented. Com. Crutchfield seconded, motion passed (3-0), and checks were signed.
Commissioners received a call from Sheriff Mark Nichols to discuss the possibility of transferring sick leave to another jail employee. County Clerk Will Ellis arrived to discuss the policy with Commissioners.
11:00 a.m. Com. Carter left the meeting to participate in a conference call with the Region G Solid Waste District Board of Directors
Commissioners reviewed minutes from August 20, 2013. Following review, Com. Crutchfield made a motion to approve these minutes. Com. Wilcox seconded and motion passed (3-0).
Commissioners spoke to Ted Sander, Special Road District Chairman, concerning common road and maintenance issues.
1:15 p.m. Com. Carter left the regular meeting and Com. Crutchfield acted as the Presiding Commissioner.
Commissioners contacted Chariton Valley to discuss a problem with the phones in the Commission office.
A representative from Chariton Valley arrived to fix the problem with the phones.
Commissioners handled correspondence.
4:00 p.m. Meeting was adjourned.
