RANDOLPH COUNTY COMMISSION MINUTES
Thursday, December 12, 2013
The Honorable Commission convened at the Huntsville Courthouse with the following present: Susan Carter, Presiding Commissioner; Wayne Wilcox, Eastern District Commissioner; Jerry Crutchfield, Western District Commissioner and Shelby Creed, Deputy Clerk.
9:00 a.m. Com. Carter called the meeting to order and moved approval of the agenda. Com. Wilcox seconded and motion passed (3-0).
Interim Road and Bridge Supervisor Dale Herron arrived to discuss road maintenance issues.
Rick Howard, Maintenance, arrived to discuss building maintenance issues.
Commissioners contacted Larry Hart, LJ Hart, and Shane Adrian, Edward Jones, to discuss financing options for a new county administration building.
Commissioners received a call from Rob Spangler, Road and Bridge Maintenance, to discuss the failure of the engine oil pump on the G-Model motor grader with 16,000 hours.
Bob Bauer stopped in to say hello to the Commission.
11:45 a.m. Tracy Calhoun, Permit Specialist at Enbridge Energy Company, arrived to deliver the county’s amended road maintenance agreement from Enbridge Pipeline. She was informed the last three invoices sent to Enbridge for reimbursement for repairs to CR 1660 had not been paid. She indicated the invoices would be paid quickly.
Commissioners contacted Dave Gass, Altorfer Equipment, seeking an estimate for an engine overhaul to the G-Model motor grader with 16,000 hours.
Com. Wilcox received a returned call from Russ Stundebeck, Shop Forman with JF Roling & Son John Deere, to discuss repairs need to the road and bridge tractor and boom hog.
Commissioners reviewed minutes from December 10, 2013. Following review, Com. Crutchfield made a motion to approve these minutes. Com. Wilcox seconded and motion passed (3-0).
Commissioners reviewed invoices for payment. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve payments as presented. Com. Crutchfield seconded, motion passed (3-0), and checks were signed.
1:00 p.m. Matt Williams, Field Representative from Senator Claire McCaskill’s office, arrived to discuss legislative issues.
Com. Wilcox received a call from Dave Gass, Altorfer Equipment, with a repair estimate of $25,000-27,000 for an engine overhaul of the G-Model motor grader. Following discussion, Com. Wilcox made a motion to proceed with the overhaul. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (3-0).
2:15 p.m. Circuit Judge Scott Hayes arrived to discuss the 14th Judicial Circuit’s Juvenile Department operations.
County Clerk Will Ellis arrived to report that a lawsuit brought against Randolph County by James Douglas Dale has been dismissed by the United States District Court Southern District of Texas Corpus Christi Division.
Commissioners left a message with Michael Short, Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., wanting to discuss financing options for a new county administration building.
Commissioners handled correspondence.
4:00 p.m. Meeting was adjourned.
