RANDOLPH COUNTY COMMISSION MINUTES
Thursday, February 6, 2014
The Honorable Commission convened at the Huntsville Courthouse with the following present: Susan Carter, Presiding Commissioner; Jerry Crutchfield, Western District Commissioner and Shelby Creed, Deputy Clerk.
9:00 a.m. Com. Carter called the meeting to order and moved approval of the agenda. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (2-0).
Cody Cross, Fusion Technology, arrived to work on the server at the Huntsville Courthouse.
Rick Howard, Maintenance, arrived to discuss maintenance issues and to update the Commission on cleanup of the severe water damage in the basement of the Moberly Courthouse due to a failed steam pipe.
Commissioners reviewed minutes from January 30, 2014 and February 4, 2014. Following review, Com. Crutchfield made a motion to approve these minutes. Com. Carter seconded and motion passed (2-0).
County Clerk Will Ellis arrived to present the contract for approval and signature from Henry M. Atkins & Son in the amount of $116,130.00 for 29 election machines and Atkins will also furnish tech service, training and on-site election monitoring at no additional cost for the next four years. Following review, Com. Crutchfield made a motion to accept the contract and authorize Com. Carter’s signature on the document. Com. Carter seconded and motion passed (2-0).
Ron Gillett, Enbridge Flanagan South Pipeline, stopped in to invite the Commission and Assessor Richard Tregnago to a Tax Informational Meeting with Enbridge Pipeline on February 21 at the Moberly Inn.
Russell Placzek, Oden Enterprises, Inc., stopped in to say hello to the Commission.
Dan Wilbur, Consolidated Correctional Food Service, arrived to report on the very successful startup of the new food service for the jail at the Justice Center.
11:00 a.m. Com. Wilcox called to check in.
Commissioners received a call from a county resident on CR 2415 who requested snow removal on the county road. Com. Crutchfield contacted Interim Road and Bridge Supervisor Dale Herron who reported it had been cleared.
Com. Wilcox reported receiving a call from a county resident on CR 1210 requesting ice mitigation on the top of a hill on his road. Commissioners will pass this along to the Interim Road and Bridge Supervisor.
Commissioners reviewed invoices for payment. Following review, Com. Crutchfield made a motion to approve payments as presented. Com. Carter seconded, motion passed (3-0), and checks were signed.
Dan Lobina contacted the Commission informing them of his intention to resign from the Mark Twain Regional Council of Government Transportation Advisory Committee. Com. Crutchfield contacted Andy Morris, City of Moberly, for possible candidates to fill that position.
Commissioners handled correspondence.
4:00 p.m. Meeting was adjourned.
