RANDOLPH COUNTY COMMISSION MINUTES
Tuesday, July 30, 2013
The Honorable Commission convened at the Huntsville Courthouse with the following present: Jerry Crutchfield, Western District Commissioner; Wayne Wilcox, Eastern District Commissioner; and Shelby Creed, Deputy Clerk.
9:00 a.m. In the absence of Com. Carter, Com. Crutchfield will act as the Presiding Commissioner. Com. Crutchfield called the meeting to order and moved approval of the agenda. Com. Wilcox seconded and motion passed (2-0).
Interim Road and Bridge Supervisor Dale Herron arrived to discuss road maintenance issues. Also discussed was the possible lease of a new motor grader. Mr. Herron reported the lawn at the Justice Center has been mowed and the new trailer has been delivered.
Rick Howard, Maintenance, arrived to discuss maintenance issues. Also discussed was the annual insurance inspection for the boilers.
Com. Crutchfield and Com. Wilcox reported conversations with Bohm Concrete and Albright Construction regarding the bids for the drain project at the Justice Center recreation area.
Commissioners reported receiving a bid from Rick Williams, Willy’s Painting and Decorating, for the floor project in the kitchen at the Justice Center.
Commissioners reviewed payroll expenses. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve payments as presented. Com. Crutchfield seconded, motion passed (2-0), and checks were signed.
10:55 a.m. Commissioners reviewed fuel bids from the following: MFA Oil bid at $3.191; Wright’s Oil bid at $3.195; and Brownfield Oil bid at $3.175. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to accept the bid from Brownfield Oil at $3.175. Com. Crutchfield seconded, motion passed (2-0), and the company was contacted.
11:20 a.m. Ellie Blankenship and Jim Thurman, CTS Group, arrived to discuss county facility needs.
Commissioners received a call from Eskew Mechanical scheduling an appointment to open and do annual maintenance on the boiler for the biannual state insurance inspection.
Commissioners reviewed invoices for payment. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve payments as presented. Com. Crutchfield seconded, motion passed (2-0), and checks were signed.
1:25 p.m. Coroner Gerald Luntsford stopped in to discuss indigent burials and an invoice from Pathway Funeral Home in Moberly for a body transport.
A representative arrived from Eskew Mechanical and reported that the boiler is ready for inspection.
Com. Carter called to check in.
2:30 p.m. Com. Crutchfield recessed the regular meeting to close out the 2013 Board of Equalization.
3:20 p.m. Com. Crutchfield reconvened the regular meeting.
Commissioners reviewed minutes from July 25, 2013. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve these minutes. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (2-0).
Commissioners handled correspondence.
4:00 p.m. Meeting was adjourned.
