RANDOLPH COUNTY COMMISSION MINUTES
Thursday, June 13, 2013
The Honorable Commission convened at the Huntsville Courthouse with the following present: Susan Carter, Presiding Commissioner; Wayne Wilcox, Eastern District Commissioner; Jerry Crutchfield, Western District Commissioner; and Shelby Creed, Deputy Clerk.
9:00 a.m. Com. Carter called the meeting to order and moved approval of the agenda. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (3-0).
Commissioners reported on their visit to the Boone County Courthouse Tuesday afternoon with Circuit Judge Scott Hayes and Circuit Clerk Peggy Boots, to inspect security systems at the courthouse.
Com. Carter and Com. Crutchfield reported on their attendance yesterday evening at Moberly Area Economic Development to hear a presentation on sight selection criteria.
Commissioners reported a call from Walter Cross to discuss the abandoned alleys in Yates.
Commissioners reviewed court orders in the matter of erroneous assessments. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve the court orders. Com. Crutchfield seconded, motion passed (3-0), and court orders were signed.
Rick Howard, Maintenance, arrived to report the drainage problem in the men’s bathroom at the Huntsville Courthouse had been repaired. He also reported that Letts Vankirk and Associates had not arrived to install the new chopper pump at the Justice Center. Mr. Howard indicated they would be contacted.
County Clerk Will Ellis reported the telephones are down at the Justice Center and Chariton Valley has been called.
9:40 a.m. Tim Jeffries, Moberly Special Road District Clerk, stopped in to obtain a state approved county road mileage report and say hello to the Commission.
Commissioners reviewed minutes from June 11, 2013. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve these minutes. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (3-0).
10:00 a.m. Jennifer Wilson, nForm Architecture, arrived to discuss county facility needs. Drew Van Dyke, Moberly Monitor Index, arrived to observe. Ms. Wilson delivered her preliminary assessment of county facilities which included comments from elected officials and plans for a proposed new facility.
10:20 a.m. Assistant District Engineer Brian Haeffner and Right of Way Manager Jonathan Barnes stopped in to discuss the closing of the south end of CR 2561.
Commissioners signed official minutes from June 4, 2013 and June 6, 2013.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Mike Rogers arrived to discuss road maintenance issues.
Commissioners reviewed invoices for payment. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve payments as presented. Com. Crutchfield seconded, motion passed (3-0), and checks were signed.
1:00 p.m. Gary Million, Sales Representative at Tri-State, stopped in to discuss equipment trades and purchasing.
Bob Strait, The Railroad Yard, arrived to discuss tank car culverts with Commissioners.
David Gaines, Moberly Are Economic Development, arrived for Com. Carter’s signature on Missouri’s National Career Readiness Certificate Employer Partnership Letter supporting MAEDC as a work ready community.
2:15 p.m. Meeting was adjourned
