RANDOLPH COUNTY COMMISSION MINUTES
Tuesday, March 18, 2014
The Honorable Commission convened at the Huntsville Courthouse with the following present: Susan Carter, Presiding Commissioner; Wayne Wilcox, Eastern District Commissioner; Jerry Crutchfield, Western District Commissioner and Shelby Creed, Deputy Clerk.
9:00 a.m. Com. Carter called the meeting to order and moved approval of the agenda. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (3-0).
County resident Nancy Asbury arrived to observe the meeting.
Com. Carter received a call from Dave Gass, Altorfer Machinery, who indicated he would be arriving at 10 a.m.
Interim Road and Bridge Supervisor Dale Herron arrived to discuss road maintenance issues.
Commissioners reported on their attendance at the Northeast Association of County Commissioners and Clerks meeting in Shelbina on Thursday, March 13, 2014 with County Clerk Will Ellis.
9:15 a.m. Howard Meidler, KWIX-KRES Radio, arrived to discuss the county’s booth rental at the ‘Family Affair Fair’ April 4-5 at the MACC activity center to provide information for the public on the proposed county administration building.
Commissioners reviewed invoices for payment. Following review, Com. Crutchfield made a motion to approve payments as presented. Com. Wilcox seconded, motion passed (3-0), and checks were signed.
Under correspondence, Commissioners received a thank you note from Mary Wolfe, President of the Randolph County Republican Women, thanking the Commission for their appearance at their meeting last week.
Commissioners received a call from Ken Nordmeyer looking for salvage material from the Road and Bridge Department. Mr. Nordmeyer was informed there was none available.
Commissioners have been invited to attend a Missouri Community Betterment Regional meeting at the Mark Twain Regional Council of Governments in Perry, Missouri on April 17, 2014.
County Clerk Will Ellis arrived to present the annual financial information and operating data.
Commissioners signed official minutes from March 4, 2014 and March 6, 2014.
Harold Muehe, Fire Chief of the Northeast Fire District, arrived to discuss the status of the county’s burn ban ordinance.
11:00 a.m. Weekly fuel bid was awarded to MFA Oil at 3.086. A bid was received from Brownfield Oil at 3.097. No bid was received from Wright’s Oil.
Commissioners reviewed minutes from March 11, 2014. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve these minutes. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (3-0).
Assessor Richard Tregnago stopped in to inform the Commission the Pictometry Company had begun its flyover photography to update the Assessor’s GIS information.
Darryl Rasmussen, former LEPC Chairman, arrived to present his letter of resignation from the board. Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve a letter nominating Richard Dougherty to the LEPC Board. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (3-0).
1:30 p.m. Com. Carter adjourned the regular meeting so Commissioners could attend a ceremony at the Moberly Municipal Auditorium where the Governor is scheduled to make an announcement concerning the GAF company building a new plant in Moberly. Following that, the Commissioners will hold the 3rd of four public meetings at the Moberly Courthouse to share information on the proposed administrative building.
