County Commission Minutes

RANDOLPH COUNTY COMMISSION MINUTES
Thursday, March 20, 2014

The Honorable Commission convened at the Huntsville Courthouse with the following present: Susan Carter, Presiding Commissioner; Wayne Wilcox, Eastern District Commissioner; Jerry Crutchfield, Western District Commissioner and Shelby Creed, Deputy Clerk.

9:00 a.m. Com. Carter called the meeting to order and moved approval of the agenda. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (3-0).

Commissioners reported on their attendance at the Kiwanis meeting and the Main Street Moberly Association meeting presenting information for the proposed county administration building.

Interim Road and Bridge Supervisor Dale Herron arrived to discuss road maintenance issues. Also discussed was the condition of roads in the northwest part of the county affected by the Ameren UE transmission upgrade of the “Thomas Hill to Adair County” project.

Rick Howard, Maintenance, arrived to discuss maintenance issues. Also discussed was the installation of the door at the bottom of the stairs in the basement of the Moberly Courthouse.

Com. Wilcox placed a call to Connie Duvall, Moberly Monitor Index, to correct inaccuracies in her article on the proposed Clean Line Energy project.

11:20 a.m. Com. Carter recessed the regular meeting so Commissioners could attend the Moberly Rotary Club meeting to present information on the proposed county administrative building.

1:40 p.m. Commissioners returned to the Huntsville Courthouse and Com. Carter reconvened the regular meeting.

Judy Orscheln, Director of Community Kitchen, arrived to deliver an application for an opening on the board.

Commissioners reviewed invoices for payment. Following review, Com. Crutchfield made a motion to approve payments as presented. Com. Wilcox seconded, motion passed (3-0), and checks were signed.

Commissioners reviewed minutes from March 18, 2014. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve these minutes. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (3-0).

Circuit Clerk Peggy Boots arrived to discuss the condition of the Moberly Courthouse and preparing it for a large jury trial scheduled soon.

Commissioners handled correspondence.

Brandi Glover, Executive Director at the Workforce Investment Board, stopped in to say hello to the Commission and to deliver operational proposals for Com. Wilcox to evaluate.

4:00 p.m. Meeting was adjourned.
