RANDOLPH COUNTY COMMISSION MINUTES
Thursday, March 28, 2013
The Honorable Commission convened at the Huntsville Courthouse with the following present: Susan Carter, Presiding Commissioner; Wayne Wilcox, Eastern District Commissioner and Jerry Crutchfield, Western District Commissioner. In the absence of Deputy Clerk Shelby Creed, Commissioner Carter recorded the minutes.
9:00 a.m. Com. Carter called the meeting to order and moved approval of the agenda. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (3-0). Com. Crutchfield reported on his attendance at the NECAC board meeting in Bowling Green last night.
Commissioners signed payroll checks.
9:40 a.m. Commissioners reviewed invoices for payment. Following review, Com. Crutchfield made a motion to approve invoices as presented. Com. Wilcox seconded, motion passed (3-0), and checks were signed.
County Clerk Will Ellis arrived to report a problem with the faucet in the ladies room of the Huntsville Courthouse. The problem was reported to Rick Howard, Maintenance, and he was able to repair the faucet.
Com. Carter returned a call to Trudie Barnett, Moberly School District, confirming a meeting with the Commission, School Board and Moberly City Council on April 25th at the high school.
10:30 a.m. Com. Carter recessed the meeting so Commissioners could travel to CR 1620 to meeting with a landowner who reported damage to her bushes during snow removal operations.
1:00 p.m. Commissioners Carter reconvened the regular meeting.
1:20 p.m. Sheriff Mark Nichols arrived to discuss delivery of letters to land owners in conjunction with right-of-way acquisition for the CR 2660 BRO bridge project. He then reported on progress in soliciting bids for replacement of the jail phone system. Also discussed was new jail communication technology which could generate new revenue for the Sheriff’s Department. The Sheriff will draw up specifications and advertise for both with no action expected to be taken until September.
2:40 p.m. Commissioners spoke to Aaron McVicker, SKW, concerning progress on the CR 2580 BRO-BO88 (22) bridge project. He reported they were in the process of completing final right-of-way documents.
3:10 p.m. Clerk Will Ellis arrived to review accounting procedures for the two on-going BRO bridge projects. Recorder Mark Price arrived to report on technology purchases and improvements in his office.
Commissioners handled correspondence.
4:00 p.m. Meeting was adjourned.
