RANDOLPH COUNTY COMMISSION MINUTES
Thursday, May 9, 2013
The Honorable Commission convened at the Huntsville Courthouse with the following present: Susan Carter, Presiding Commissioner; Wayne Wilcox, Eastern District Commissioner; Jerry Crutchfield, Western District Commissioner; and Shelby Creed, Deputy Clerk.
9:00 a.m. Com. Carter called the meeting to order and moved approval of the agenda. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (3-0).
Com. Wilcox and Com. Crutchfield reported on their meeting Tuesday evening with Judge Hayes discussing county facility needs and updates.
Joe Perkins and Don Clark stopped in requesting rock on CR 2905.
Com. Carter contacted Road and Bridge Supervisor Mike Rogers and reported the rock request for CR 2905.
Commissioners signed official minutes from April 25, 2013 and April 30, 2013.
Com. Wilcox reported on his attendance at the MU Extension Council monthly meeting where a local farm family was selected to represent Randolph County at the Missouri State Fair. This year’s farm family will be the Gerike family. Also discussed was future office space needs for the MU Extension office.
10:30 a.m. Commissioners received a call from William Sullivan, Managing Director at PFM Asset Management, to discuss investment possibilities for funds managed by the County Treasurer. County Treasurer Penny Henry was also present.
Commissioners reviewed minutes from May 7, 2013. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve these minutes. Com. Crutchfield seconded and motion passed (3-0).
11:45 a.m. Commissioners reviewed invoices for payment. Following review, Com. Wilcox made a motion to approve payments as presented. Com. Crutchfield seconded, motion passed (3-0), ad checks were signed.
Commissioners received a call from Pat Thomas, Senior Legislative Aide in State Senator Brian Munzlinger’s office, to discuss SB42.
1:50 p.m. Road and Bridge Supervisor Mike Rogers arrived to discuss maintenance issues and review changes to the county’s driveway permit policy.
Macon County Clerk Shirley Sims called to confirm she would be faxing a copy of the intercounty agreement to house Macon prisoners in Randolph County.
2:10 p.m. Attorney Ivan Schraeder called to deliver information supporting his opinion that a statute mandating a county courthouse in Moberly was no longer in effect. He cited information received from the Supreme Court Librarian.
Com. Wilcox received a call from Randolph County resident Pam Gilmore requesting contact information for the Enbridge Pipeline management to discuss pipe recycling.
County Clerk Will Ellis arrived to discuss a proposed ATV ordinance and re-bidding food service for the county jail following conversations with state auditors.
Commissioners handled correspondence.
4:00 p.m. Meeting was adjourned.
